ChupaWest Collective
The 411
The ChupaWest Collective is a rotating cast of musical misfits dedicated to sonic mayhem. In its many iterations through the years, the collective has explored landscapes ranging from trip-hop and noise to dissonant country-infused spoken-word storytelling, all with a bent towards the mind-altering. The ChupaWest Collective’s first release “The Legend of the Chupacabra” is a collaboration between founder Pix and guitarist/drummer/percussionist Rodolpho Salvatierra that serves as the theme song for ChupaWest Records. In the second release “Fisherman Wisherman,” the Collective flexes their improvisational chops and on-the-fly storytelling ability in an epic tale of a supposedly dying man’s wish for nothing more than a tall glass of beer (with a little ice in it).
